This Grant-in-Aid is named in recognition of the unfolding potential of new teachers. Each year Theta Chi members award one or more Grants-in-Aid (Recruitment Grants) to women who are first year teachers for the purpose of providing classroom supplies or books. The amount varies from year to year. Please submit your application to a Theta Chi chapter member by October 17, 2022.

This Grant-in-Aid is named in memory of Willie D. Parr Gilbert, Theta Chi Chapter’s first president (1969-1972). Each year Theta Chi members award one or more Grants-in-Aid (Recruitment Grants) to women who are pursuing a bachelor’s degree in education. These women should be junior or senior education majors. Also, women working as teacher assistants who are completing their education degree or who are completing teacher certification will be eligible for consideration of this grant. The amount varies from year to year.
